Final project

          I fear endings and beginnings. I fear great things ending, things I love going away, people I have grown close to fading away, the ending of a great experience. You never know when an ending is going to happen, some times you see it coming from miles and miles away, sometimes it comes out of no where. Even if you see it coming from miles away its hard to know how you will react to it and how it will affect you.

       For every action there is an equal and opposite reaction. For every ending there is a new beginning. Beginings also happen the same way, you know they are coming but you dont know when of how it will all work out. They are exciting and sad at the same time.

      The reverse sunset is to show that no matter how much you want things to go back to the way they were time dosnt work like that. You can only move forward. The sunrise shows the the new beginnings are just as beautiful as the ending. I recorded silence because so many people feel like silence is uncomfortable and so are endings and new beginnings. I am a quiet person as well and silence helps you think and find the beauty and excitement in the endings and beginnings.

I am at a cross road of a huge ending and beginning right now in my life.

The Cage

Im awkwardly sitting in the equipment cage because the class isn't approved and blah blah blah... UT makes life so difficult. So here i sit, for over an hour, waiting for some boss dude to get here so I can show him the email that wont send that gives me permission to use one flip camera that I need tomorrow to video my project so I can get it done in time... So here I sit, on the counter, on my laptop, wasting time cuz UT cant get their stuff together...

Projects...

My problem is that I see amazing things when we look at examples in class. But I know that if i tried any of those ideas I would be overwhelmed and frustrated and not finish the project. I would love to do amazing things like that but I am just not that skilled. Looking at all the examples I just hear in my head "Ain't no body got time for that"

Flip Book

Here is my flip video. It is fairly simple. I did not want to choose an idea that was more then I could handle. The book was about women traveling on their own. I think when we travel places we change when we come back and we are never the same person we were when we left. Travel adds things to punctom which you apply to what you see and experience in every day life.

Appreciate

I am really beginning to appreciate animators who can sit and do this. I could not do this for a living, even if it was on the computer. I am have a difficult time just coming up with 200 simple drawings. It was really cool to open the cover of my book and see that it was signed by the author. A very pleasant surprise. I am a book fanatic and was always taught not to write in books, so it is a little weird to be doing something I have been told not to and it being art.

practice creativity

I really liked the creativity video. I always thought of creativity as something that just happens and some people are really lucky. I never thought of practicing it and getting better at it.  Deffinately something I want to try. Creativity is a very interesting concept. Creativity is defined as "the tendency to generate or recognize ideas, alternatives, or possibilities that may be useful in solving problems, communicating with others, and entertaining ourselves and others." Many people look at things the same way so we admire people who see things differently then we do. Then we get the "aaahhhhh I see it now" moment. When we finally see it the way they do, then sometimes you want to kick yourself for not seeing that way before. Creativity is amazing

Difficult...

I am having a very difficult time with this opera assignment. I watched the opera and took notes and started the paper and everything. Opera just seems repetitive. Its probably a thing you learn to focus on opera and understand it with time...

 Bugs Bunny Opera

here is a link to the Bugs Bunny Opera we were talking about the other day in class. I think its really cool to see how opera applies to today's culture. I never really thought about it as the beginning of the music festivals we have today. I love the Bugs Bunny opera though. Opera even got through to cartoon culture

Punctdom

               I think I am really going to enjoy this class. It sounds like a very interactive class. The definition of the word, Punctdom really stuck out to me. Google tried telling me that it is some body part? Related to the eye? or something like that. But upon further searching I found this definition. Punctdom- Learning that punctum, referred to the instant or immediate response that you can get from a picture. Especially at first glance and the emotional impact it makes, or what sticks with you. 

            I think that it is so cool that our brain can remember images like that and associate feeling with it and let you access that later when you see something similar.
